A five-check pre-trip sequence

1. Registry relationship: confirm that the caregiver is linked to the patient. If the relationship is missing, contact the patient's qualified physician, who adds caregivers to the Registry profile.

2. Active status and card: check current patient and caregiver status and card validity. OMMU says the caregiver must have the caregiver Registry ID card in immediate possession while possessing marijuana or a marijuana delivery device.

3. Certification and order: check that the patient's certification and open order cover the date and intended route, with enough amount available. Ask the qualified physician about certification, order, or route questions.

4. Location and fulfillment: confirm the licensed MMTC location, hours, pickup or delivery requirements, and product availability directly through the operator's official channel before traveling or ordering.

5. Minor patient: for a qualified patient under 18, follow OMMU caregiver-only purchase and administration requirements. The minor may not purchase medical marijuana.

This sequence organizes a pre-trip check. It does not confirm a particular patient's eligibility, remaining amount, inventory, or the location's current service. Keep patient information within the official Registry, physician, and MMTC processes.

Why caregiver shopping needs its own checklist
